“30 patients (94%) completed the whole treatment schedule. Five (17%) patients reported a significant improvement in erectile function at the end of the L-arginine phase and 6 (20%) patients after the placebo period. 17 (56%) patients showed little improvement with L-arginine and 13 (43%) with placebo. In 8 patients (27%) of the verum group there was either no change in the ED score or even a slight worsening.“
As you can see in the study above, the results are quite good. Actually, there is another excellent research study that was published in BJU International (1999) that confirms its role in increasing the nitric oxide:
“Nine of 29 (31%) patients taking L-arginine and two of 17 controls reported a significant subjective improvement in sexual function. All objective variables assessed remained unchanged. All nine patients treated with L-arginine and who had subjectively improved sexual performance had had an initially low urinary NOx, and this level had doubled at the end of the study.“
The best part is that L-Arginine improves the subjective sexual functions as well.
#5. Vitis Vinifera

According to some Ayurvedic websites such as “Ayur Help“, the Vitis Vinifera, also known as grapes, helps to increase the fertility of men and women. It increases quality and quantity of semen, sperm count, and sperm motility.
However, I was not able to find any supporting evidence in research studies. Actually, this research study observes the exact opposite in male rats:
“We found that GJ [grape juice] reduces body weight difference, was associated with decreased sperm motility and count in all treatment groups (p≤0.05 and p≤0.001, respectively). Moreover, DSP [daily sperm production] was significantly decreased in all treatment groups compared to the control group (p≤0.05), except in the group receiving 100 mg/kg of GJ. Inhibin B levels were significantly decreased in all treatment groups (p≤0.05).“
This ingredient doesn’t seem to be very effective in improving your erections or libido. On male rats, it even reduced fertility and the amount of sperm they were able to produce on daily basis.

Sadly, I was not able to discover any detailed information on this substance. I have no idea how it relates to male sexual health. I have only read some brief info that it should promote vasodilation similarly as nitric oxide.

The L-citrulline is an amino acid normally made by the human body. It is then converted to L-arginine, another type of amino acid that significantly improves the blood flow by creating a nitric oxide (NO), a special gas that helps widen blood vessels.
Although the research to support the use of L-citrulline as an ED treatment is limited, it seems very promising:
“Although less effective than phosphodiesterase type-5 enzyme inhibitors, at least in the short term, L-citrulline supplementation has been proved to be safe and psychologically well accepted by patients. Not only that, this substance can improve the quality of your sperm and semen according to a research study published in Asian Journal of Andrology (2010):

I have only a quote taken from the official website on 22nd October (2018), that deals with this issue:
