We’ve already told you about 10 great hobbies that will boost your manliness and we are back with the second edition of free-time activities that will transform you into a bad-ass.

Hobby #10 – Reading

library

Reading makes the list, but you don’t want to sit there reading 50 Shades of Gray. Instead, read books that enhance your hobbies or life, or that make you more knowledgeable overall. A few of the best books to read for a manly man include:

  • Wild at Heart
  • The Book of Man
  • Halftime
  • Book of Manly Men

There are hundreds of books that are waiting to be read that will boost your manliness, so get out and start reading some.

Hobby #9 – Beer Brewing

Brewing beer, or even wine, can be done in the comfort of your home. The process is rather easy, but I do recommend getting a home brewing kit to get started.

These kits will contain everything that you need, and they are very affordable!

Hobby #8 – Cooking & Grilling

man grilling

Cooking and grilling – especially meats – is something that every man should know how to do. You’ll want to start looking at different recipes, and trying to learn how to cook the best steak, burgers, ribs and other items to impress your guests.

Hobby #7 – Lock Picking

Lock picking is a lot of fun, and there are still many locks today that can be picked. Double-sided locks are much harder to pick, but the locks that are on most doors are rather simplistic.

I recommend buying a standard lock from a hardware store and practicing on it to get down the technique.

Picking a lock is rather simple:

  1. Place pressure on the lock in the open position.
  2. Place your lockpick inside.
  3. Move it up and down feeling for the pins.
  4. Repeat until you feel that all the pins are down.
  5. Turn the lock.

Keep in mind:

This is for a very basic lock, but you’ll have no problems finding more information about lock picking online or in books!

Hobby #6 – Bee Keeping

The bee-keeping is a major responsibility, and a rather expensive hobby to start in. It’s recommended that you first get training from a professional beekeeper, and then determine if you want to pursue it or not.

Not only will “being a beekeeper” impress your friends, but it will provide you and your family with honey!

Hobby #5 – Chess

chess

Mastering chess is an excellent way to boost your overall mental capacity, and it’s a lot of fun to do. You can do this online or with people in person (which I recommend), and chess is a game that many men around the world love to play.

Learn how to play chess first, and then work on different strategies and techniques to overcome your opponents!

Hobby #4 – Whisky Connoisseur

whisky

What is the drink of men? Whiskey. There are several different types of whiskey that you can learn about, including:

  • Single malt – The most common whiskey that comes from one distillery!
  • Single grain – A whiskey that only includes one type of grain!
  • Blended malt – A malt mixture that comes from several distilleries!
  • Blended whiskey – One that originates from different distilleries and includes a mix of grain and malt!

You’ll also find that there are whiskeys from several different countries aside from just Scotland and Ireland, as well as whiskey of different ages and different production methods used to make this famous drink.

Hobby #3 – Survival

Surviving without the luxuries we have in today’s world can be difficult. Most men don’t know how to:

  • Start a fire with just sticks
  • Build a shelter
  • Bandage wounds
  • Make weapons
  • Hunt

There are a lot of basic life skills that a lot of men don’t have, and learning some of these techniques is something that you will be able to use for the rest of your life.

Hobby #2 – Classic Car Repairing

car repair

Repairing automobiles is a traditional “manly man” hobby. It is not only a fun, but it will teach you the basics of auto repair and help you advance your skills all the way up to the complete restoration of a classic car!

If you’re wondering how you’re going to be able to justify the costs involved, try to choose the vehicle that you repair wisely and know that you can sell it in the future.

Pay attention:

Many people will repair classic cars and sell them for twice the money they put into it. You also have the opportunity to keep your classic vehicle, and ride around town in style.

Hobby #1 – Flying

Flying is the final item on our list, and it’s one that you’ll need help with. I recommend going to flight school, and learning how to fly a single plane with the aid of a professional.

Keep in mind that you will need to obtain your license if you do plan on owning a private aircraft. Flying is very serious and is one of the best ways to show your strong side.
